Tested on 250 computers (one of our smaller sites). That means when the user needs to run a package that requires administrative rights, the ZCM agent creates a system level task that had to copy 1.2 gigs of data. We have an image with AutoDesk Suite on it which ballooned the default user profile to around 1.2 gigs. Now that I'm thinking about it, another really poor design choice for ZCM is that when you set a bundle to run as administrator, the agent creates a new dynamic administrator user every time a computer reboots. And lots of Object Reference Not Found Errors. During peak network traffic, package downloads corrupted on systems causing package installs to fail horribly. The biggest weakness of ZCM for us was the fact that file transfers were done through UDP. Our ZCM environment is split into 2 logical zones that did not share data or control until 11.3.x but it was still pretty bad to be honest. ZCM had a max device limit per logical zone of 50,000 at 11.2.x but I believe 11.3.x and 11.4.x has a max device of I think 100k. With an advertisement (just like hostnames), then it would be much easier.Current 80,000 device ZCM 11.3.2 environment, tested SCCM and LANDesk and about to migrate to LANDesk. If deploying to a username was as easy as adding it to a collection I recently released a modified version of Ron's Web Tools to my network and have it set up so that the techs here can easily deploy applications without the need to get into the SCCM client / server - but - this question has come up a lot and I honestlyĬurrently when someone requests an application and are approved, we get their username, look it up in LANSweeper (easiest way per our tools), get their hostnames, then deploy it that way. ![]() ![]() ![]() Given the fact that SCCM lists and allows you to manage domain users into collections, is it thererfore possible to advertise application deployments to a username and not a hostname? Seeing as I've been working for SCCM for a few months now, this is a very newb question to ask, but something I just thought about. ![]()
